Health and Safety
Protecting our employees and our customers…
We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our employees, customers and for all visitors to our premises. We aim for best practice in Health and Safety throughout all our operations and we support a proactive culture of risk management to ensure accidents and incidents remain as low as is reasonably practicable.
All of our employees receive training on Health and Safety and all new starters have health, safety and security training as a part of their induction package. Furthermore, Ladbrokes is the only bookmaker to have an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health accredited training course within the industry.
In order to assess our own performance, we have developed an internal auditing system, covering both legislative compliance and best practice methods. We target our performance and review on an annual basis.
Ladbrokes has been presented with the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council. The Health and Safety Executive has also cited Ladbrokes retail procedures as an example of good practice in preventing upper limb disorders in the workplace.
One of the important risks to the health of our employees and our customers are breaches of security on our premises, such as robbery and theft. We have invested heavily in CCTV across all of our retail estate, both to help reduce the number of incidents and to help protect employees and customers.
