Supporting our Communities

A safe and healthy place to live…

The Ladbrokes betting shop is typically at the heart of the communities where we operate. We are committed to supporting our local people to develop a healthier place to live. We believe in social investment and encourage our employees to become active members of their local communities, supporting employee involvement wherever possible. We encourage charitable fundraising and support charitable initiatives throughout the world, particularly through our own charitable organisation Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust. We have an ongoing relationship with Crimestoppers and are involved in a number of initiatives across the UK in support of community safety.

Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust… our own charitable fundraising…

Charitable Trust Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust (LICCT) continues to grow and has become a successful charitable body, brilliantly supported by Ladbrokes’ employees. It has now raised over £3.5 million for good causes across the UK since it was established in 2003. In 2007 LICCT donated over £938,000 to charitable and community causes. To mark the start of the year, £25,000 was given to each of four major charities: Guide Dogs for the Blind, Dreams Come True, The Samaritans and the Army Benevolent Fund.

Crimestoppers… promoting community safety

Since 1998, to help support and protect our communities, Ladbrokes has worked with Crimestoppers, the organisation which encourages people to give anonymous information on crime to the police. Ladbrokes' estate of 2,133 shops on high streets throughout the UK display Crimestoppers posters and leaflets detailing the hotline number and the aim of Crimestoppers. Under its new Associate status Ladbrokes has become a close partner of Crimestoppers and will be contributing to the future development of the organisation by donating over £100,000 to Crimestoppers over three years.

Meet The Harrows At our head office in Harrow, we have teamed up with local community groups, crimestoppers and the local police to help develop a community safety leaflet, called “Meet The Harrows”. This innovative publication includes clearly explained crime prevention advice covering topics ranging from street robbery to car crime, pickpockets and burglary.

Crimestoppers To cement this relationship even further Ladbrokes encourages all its employees to volunteer to help Crimestoppers and has encouraged members of its regional management team to join the Crimestoppers boards, which help to raise funds and promote Crimestoppers within each area of the country. By working so closely with Crimestoppers, Ladbrokes is supporting many community initiatives to tackle crime.
